Metsäfestiwal 2012 (metsä meaning forest in Finnish) is the biggest alternative music & arts event in Finland. The open air forest festival combines different styles of sub-culture music and art styles into one huge carnival which continues over the weekend of 27th to 29th of July, 2012.

Bus ticket bookings closed - festival kicks off soon!

As previously announced, we have closed down the festival bus ticket bookings system from further sales - we will continue to confirm previously placed orders until Friday. There are a few leftover seats in the buses.

Official Metsäfestiwal 2012 festival bus ticket sales have started!

Our webshop for festival bus tickets has now been opened! We will be selling round-trip tickets to festival buses operating from various major Finnish cities at a very comfortable price compared to other methods of transportation - not to forget the unique atmosphere that is only available in a festival bus! The sales system will be closed mid-week before the festival takes place, after which we will only accept payments from previously placed orders - first come, first served. So, act quick!

Metsäfestiwal 2012: Music and art without boundaries

Metsäfestiwal 2012 will serve a wide scale of both international and domestic bands and musicians. The venue consists of a very broad scale of finest alternative music acts, selected with care to bring the most out of the style and vibration of the forest festival surroundings.

Music will be served from four stages throughout the whole weekend by 60 world class artists and bands - there will be something happening around the clock! All sound will be provided with an uncompromised sound quality by two leading Finnish public audio and lighting production companies, such as the widely-known Finnish A/V companies Aura Audio and Eastway.

The festival area itself is an extraordinary sight. A combination of unique, hand-built timberwood structures within a beautiful Finnish forest location in Mäntyharju municipality, central Finland (approximately 200km from Helsinki). The forest festival area hosts multiple awe-inspiring woodmade stages & structures with colorful mind-boggling decorations, and a perfect nature surrounding for the most audiovisually intriguing festival of the summer.

The UV decoration set at the festival is created by Flowers Of Life (a Finnish deco group) in collaboration with other Finnish and international top-notch visual artists. The Finnish forest site will be transformed into a magical and colorful ultraviolet installation which will test the limits of your imagination and concept of reality. Combined with a light spectacle that'll make the trees glow in colors, a black-light theatre will bring the decorations to life ... This is going to be a spectacle.

Subculture Foundation Syvä ry is the other main organizer of the festival. Syvä ry is a Finnish cultural foundation which is well-known for their ambitious work in organizing underground and alternative music events in Finland. Syvä ry will be hosting two stages: the Live Stage which offers music without genre boundaries, from folk-rock to intriguing electronic beats, as well as the Syvä Stage, which is their sole dedication to finnish underground hip-hop and rap culture.

No matter what your personal preferences are in music or arts - Metsäfestiwal 2012 will be something you won't forget. Be there and be a part of a Finnish culture revolution!
